Portfolio

Here’s a sample of our current and recently completed work.

  • Strategic Communications Counsel Since 2005 we have acted as Strategic Communications Counsel for Building Communities Through Learning, a major growth initiative for Red Deer College. Our communication work with this multi-faceted project will run until 2011.
  • Arts & Culture Marketing Plan In partnership with a colleague, we developed a marketing plan for arts and culture in an urban municipality. Exciting stuff, especially since this city has already been named a “Cultural Capital” of Canada and has many strengths upon which to build.
  • Detox Centre Community Consultation How do you consult with potential neighbours and the public when developing a much-needed detox / shelter facility for people with addictions? We developed messages and processes to address NIMBY responses and made a strong case for this community service.
  • Marketing Tool for Optometry Offices For professionals, optometrists included, the most productive marketing happens internally, in the relationship building stages. What is the customer / patient’s experience, and is it fully integrated with sales of products and services? Our “Vision Profiles” marketing tool helps optometrists lead patients from lifestyle discussions through eye health questions directly to product and service choices. Offices using the tool report dramatically increased sales.
  • Website to Enhance College Community relations We’re making it easier for community supporters (including donors) to connect with and support a college, by planning and writing a dynamic new web site.
  • Website Usability Study With over 5,000 pages, this client’s web site is an important business tool, but no one knew how functional it was. Could users find what they needed, in reasonable time? We set up a usability test and supervised a number of user test groups as they put the site through its paces. Then we provided the client with a comprehensive analysis and recommendations for improvements.
  • Election Campaign communication Elections, we know from past experience, are intense periods with a focus on communications, communications, communications. We were the communications advisors, writers and production specialists for a (successful) candidate for mayor. It was a great opportunity to combine our expertise with a commitment to the community.
  • Internal Communications For an organization with locations across Canada, maintaining open and effective internal communications is always a challenge. We develop and create tools that range from a monthly print newsletter, to an e-mail newsletter, an intranet site, and telephone fan-out processes to help this client keep everyone ‘in the loop.’
